The long-awaited Atlanta Top 25 Home Builders for 2024 list is now out. We ran the numbers, courtesy of MarketNsight, and compiled the results. The list includes Atlanta home builders ranked by the number of homes closed in 2024 in the metro Atlanta real estate market. Note that these rankings do not include build-to-rent homes and only represent owner-occupied sales in 2024.
“Average prices hit an all-time high of $540,000 in June. Despite mortgage rates being at 20-year highs, total pending sales remained on par with 2023,” comments John Hunt, Principal and Chief Analyst with MarketNsight.
“As always, the availability of land and lots continues to influence home builder rankings in metro Atlanta,” states Hunt.
D.R. Horton Inc. again tops the list, followed by Ashton Woods at No. 2 and Century Communities at No. 3. This year, the top 13 home builders are national companies. A number of large privately held companies, including Rockhaven Homes, Direct Residential, Traton Homes, My Home Communities, Wingate Custom Homes and Rocklyn Homes, are also on the list.

“The Atlanta market is positioned for growth, with permits projected to rise 15% in 2025 and home prices projected to increase by 5%,” said Hunt. “Average home values have surged 62% since 2019, giving homeowners a tremendous amount of equity to put towards a new home if they can find inventory that fits their price range and lower square footage requirements.”
