A cook a Kimball House, Codee Adams met Kristina Cohen on Hinge in 2024. In their first week of dating, he made granola for her. She loved it and suggested he start selling it. Granola People was born.
Today, Adams and Cohen are partners both personally and professionally. They make and sell herbaceous granola in two flavors: rosemary pecan and maple syrup, and lavender almond and wildflower honey. Botanically flavored, it comes in 10-ounce packets and is sold at Kinship Butcher & Sundry, Pure Quill Superette, and Kelly’s Market. Cohen says they plan to be at Morningside Farmers Market this summer.

“Food is my love language and I have this botanical proclivity,” Adams says. “We want the flavors to feel nuanced and talk about the flavors like notes of wine or a cocktail.”
“The lavender is not what you’d see in the everyday granola aisle but it’s still very palatable,” Cohen adds.
Adams refers to it as “snacking granola,” since it’s comprised with more seeds and nuts than oats. He also recommends eating it on yogurt or with almond milk.
He even developed a special savory granola blend to use on a beet salad at Kimball House. It’s made with pepitas, oats, white pepper, and sumac.
“I’ve eaten granola my whole life and made a ton of it during the pandemic,” Cohen says. “It’s something we love, we find fun, creative and with people’s health in mind.”
