DECATUR, GA– DeKalb County will host its 5th Annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive on Saturday, July 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., led by CEO Lorraine Cochran Johnson.
The initiative aims to equip students with the tools they need to succeed by providing essential school supplies to families across DeKalb County.
Community members are encouraged to donate backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, crayons, glue sticks, and other school supplies at one of three convenient locations:
- South DeKalb Mall – 2801 Candler Road, Decatur, GA 30034
- Northlake Mall – 4800 Briarcliff Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30345
- Dunwoody City Hall – 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338
All donated items will be distributed to DeKalb County School District students through partnerships with local schools, teachers, and nonprofit organizations. The goal is to remove barriers to learning by ensuring that every child, regardless of economic background, has access to the basic supplies needed to fully participate in the classroom.
“Our children are the future of DeKalb County, and we want to make sure every student starts the school year with the tools they need to succeed,” said CEO Lorraine Cochran Johnson. “Stuff the Bus is more than a donation drive. It is a show of community unity and care. These supplies will have a direct and immediate impact on students in our public schools.”
With more than 92,000 students in the DeKalb County School District, the need for community support is more important than ever. Donations from Stuff the Bus will help bridge resource gaps for students in under-resourced communities and support teachers working to meet classroom needs.
