Pendergrast Farm’s onsite farmer helps bring fresh, local produce to Briarcliff Woods residents
Pendergrast Farm, a distinctive conservation community near Emory in Decatur, is proud to introduce its new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Led by full-time Farm Manager Vincent McKoy, this initiative offers community members and local neighbors the opportunity to enjoy fresh, locally grown produce while supporting sustainable agriculture.
Launching this spring, the CSA program provides subscribers with weekly boxes of just-picked vegetables, fruits, herbs and other farm products. The program runs in two seasons – Spring/Summer from May to August (16 weeks) and Fall/Winter from September to December (12 weeks). Pickup is available Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m., with alternative arrangements available as needed.
“Community Supported Agriculture is a wonderful way for people to directly connect with their food, the farmer and the land,” said McKoy. “This program not only delivers fresh, chemical-free produce straight from our farm to your table but also strengthens the bonds within our community and local neighborhood.”
McKoy brings a wealth of experience to Pendergrast Farm. A Master Gardner with a passion for sustainability, he combines traditional agricultural methods with modern eco-friendly practices. His work extends beyond the farm, advocating for food justice and inspiring future environmentalists through educational initiatives and community engagement.
Subscribers to the CSA program will receive a curated selection of seasonal produce, with options ranging from a $60 weekly starter pack to year-round premium package that includes vegetables, fruits and occasional extras such as flowers, eggs and more. In addition to farm-fresh food, members gain access to live webinars and farm events designed to enhance their knowledge of sustainable agriculture and home gardening.
