DEKALB COUNTY, GA–Is your child interested in learning more about Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts or Mathematics career opportunities? You’re invited. Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host its third annual S.T.E.A.M. Fair at the DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment in Stone Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., 1492 Kelton Drive, Stone Mountain.
This free, hands-on event is designed especially for students in grade 6-8 across DeKalb County, providing them with the chance to explore exciting fields in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. From robotics challenges to “Is It Magic or Is It Science?” experiments, to interactive performing arts and even outdoor agriculture, students will rotate through dynamic stations that bring learning to life. Adding to the excitement, professionals from a wide range of S.T.E.A.M careers will be on site to share their journeys and inspire the next generation.

For more than 45 years, the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has maintained an unwavering commitment to Sisterhood and Service to All Mankind, in the DeKalb County community and abroad. The vision of the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter, as the only county chapter in metropolitan Atlanta, began in 1976 with 21 chartering members. Today, the chapter is comprised of more than 500 college-educated women from diverse backgrounds, experiences, ideas and skill sets—all helping to carry out and advance the legacy of the chapter’s founders.
