October 3, 2025 (Los Angeles, CA) Delivering a bold body of work, legendary Sacramento rap artist and prison reform activist X-Raided (born Aneraé Veshaughn Brown) proudly presents his statement-making new album A Prophecy In Purgatory out now via Strange Music.
To celebrate its release, he just uncovered the music video for the single “Youthanized.” Watch HERE. In the clip, he lives out classic hip-hop artwork like Ice Cube’s Death Certificate, bringing motion to images the culture knows so well. At the same time, he raps directly to the camera over a West Coast-style bounce punctuated by a fluid beat, funky keys, and gunshot samples. He brings perspective to his journey, “Learned by observing it, the ghetto was my teacher, religiously evil as if the devil was my preacher.” At the same time, he comments on the broken system, “They turned the streets into insane asylums.” It’s just one of many verbal and musical highpoints on the LP though.
A Prophecy In Purgatory unfolds a veritable rap masterclass taught by X-Raided. He gets lyrically Biblical on the likes of “Ecclesiastes” and “Thug Psalms,” and he goes toe-to-toe with some of the most elite and deft MCs of all-time, including Mozzy on the NorCal anthem “Still Outside,” Kurupt on “HeLa Cells,” C-Bo and Brotha Lynch Hung on “Outside (Three Kings),” and, of course, his creative brother Tech N9ne on “Damnation.”
Loaded with 20 tracks, this is his most vibrant, vicious, and vital body of work to date.

Prior to dropping the album, the singles had cumulatively amassed nearly 2 million streams and views in addition to receiving love from Vibe, Global Grind, I’M MUSIC MAGAZINE, and more.
