Explore the Savoy Automobile Museum Collection

The museum’s permanent collection features approximately 70 historically significant automobiles spanning more than a century of automotive innovation. One of the oldest vehicles on display is a 1903 Oldsmobile Curved Dash Runabout, while rotating exhibits showcase everything from muscle cars and racing legends to luxury automobiles and rare collector vehicles.

Because the exhibits change regularly, no two visits are exactly alike. Throughout the galleries, visitors can discover American classics, vintage luxury automobiles, historic race cars, woodies, rare orphan brands and specialty collector vehicles. Many of these automobiles are on loan from private collectors, museums and organizations across the country, ensuring fresh experiences with every visit.

About Savoy Automobile Museum

The 65,000-square-foot museum sits on a beautifully landscaped 37-acre campus in Cartersville. Its name comes from a weathered 1954 Plymouth Savoy discovered on the property during construction. That vehicle has been preserved and remains on display outside the museum as a tribute to the site’s history.

Inside, visitors can explore four rotating exhibition galleries, a soaring Great Hall and a state-of-the-art, 297-seat theater featuring a rotating vehicle stage and large-format video wall. The museum also includes a research library, The Savoy Café, The Savoy Store gift shop, archives and administrative offices. Throughout the year, the theater hosts lectures, presentations, film screenings and other educational programs that complement the museum’s exhibits.

Outdoor Showgrounds and Events

Savoy’s outdoor showgrounds host a variety of events throughout the year, including:

  • Classic car shows
  • Cruise-ins
  • Collector meetups
  • Educational programs
  • Concerts
  • Guest speakers and lectures
  • Family-friendly community events

The landscaped grounds are designed to evoke the feel of a prestigious Concours d’Elegance, with expansive lawns capable of accommodating hundreds of vehicles during major events.

Before visiting, check the museum’s calendar to see what special events or exhibits are happening during your trip.

Automotive Art Beyond the Cars

Savoy Automobile Museum is more than a collection of automobiles. Throughout the galleries, visitors can view original automotive-inspired artwork, including oil paintings, sketches and sculptures. These pieces complement the vehicles on display and reinforce the museum’s mission of presenting automobiles as both technological achievements and works of art.

Membership and Volunteer Opportunities

Frequent visitors may want to consider a museum membership, which includes unlimited admission for a full year along with additional member benefits. Savoy also welcomes volunteers who have an interest in automobiles, history, education or community engagement.
