DC Blox issues statement concerning  water main break

DC BLOX issued a statement on Aug. 6 around 8:40 p.m. regarding the ongoing water main break and resulting boil water advisory in Rockdale County.

The water main rupture located approximately a half-mile from DC BLOX’s development site was not caused by DC BLOX, its primary contractors, or any sub-contractors operating on its site, company officials said.

DC Blox issued the following statement:

“We understand the frustration this water disruption is causing our neighbors, and we fully support Rockdale Water Resources as they complete these repairs. However, we want to be transparent with the community: DC BLOX and our development teams were not involved in any way with the work that damaged this water main. We remain committed to open communication and responsible development in Conyers.”

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA–Rockdale County Water System has issued a Boil Water Advisory effective 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026.

A water main break in Rockdale County on Tuesday has nearly half of the county under a boil water advisory. The water main break, which was caused by a private  contractor working in the area,  led to an outage in the Sigman Road and Rockbridge Road areas. The contractor accidentally damaged a 12-inch water main near the intersection, resulting in low water pressure for customers in the affected areas.

Rockdale Water Resources crews responded and repaired the damaged water main, restoring normal water services at approximately 1 a.m. on  Aug 5.

Those experiencing low pressure or water loss should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and food preparation.  Customers should boil water until it comes to aboiling roll for at least one (1) minute before use.

The advisory applies to customers in the northern portion of Rockdale County, specifically the service area north of Interstate 20 (I-20). The Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure that may have affected the system’s water  quality.
