There’s a short stretch every year when Georgia gets it just right. The mornings turn cool, the trees go gold and rust, and every family group chat starts asking the same question: are we doing the pumpkin patch this year?
If the answer is yes, don’t wait too long. Most farm seasons around Atlanta wrap up in early to mid November. Here are three farms, one south of the city and two up north, with hours and prices we checked this week.
Southern Belle Farm, McDonough
Head south on I-75 to Henry County and you’ll find one of the busiest fall farms in the metro. Weekends are the main event here, with more than 30 attractions packed into one ticket.
- Where: 1658 Turner Church Road, McDonough
- Weekend activity hours: Saturdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., last entry at 6 p.m.
- Peak weekends left: October 24 and 25, and October 31 and November 1, at $24.95 for ages 3 to 64 ($22.95 for seniors and military)
- Off-peak weekends: November 7 and 8, and November 14 and 15, at $18.95
- Free: kids 2 and under, plus entry to the farm market, bakery and pumpkin patch
Your ticket covers the corn maze, pig races, the cow train, hayrides, a jumping pillow and a giant tunnel slide. A few extras, like gem mining, cost more. Peak weekends can sell out, so buy online before you go.
Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Dawsonville
About an hour north up GA-400, Uncle Shuck’s is the pick if you want to get properly lost in the corn.
- Where: 125 Bannister Road, Dawsonville
- Season: through November 8, 2026
- October hours: Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- November hours: Fridays 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Food: concessions run Friday through Sunday only
Beyond the maze, there’s pick-your-own pumpkins, a jumping pillow, tire mountain, a kids maze and gem mining. On Friday and Saturday nights in October, the farm runs The Dark Rows, a haunted trail through the corn that is not for the little ones. Ticket prices are listed on the farm’s rates page.
Burt’s Pumpkin Farm, Dawsonville
Burt’s is a North Georgia tradition, and it’s the easiest of the three to fit into a weekday because it’s open every day of the season.
- Where: 5 Burts Pumpkin Farm Road, Dawsonville
- Hours: every day, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hayrides: daily, $10 per person plus tax, kids under 2 ride free
The hayride makes a stop at what the farm calls the world’s largest drive-through pumpkin, and the farm store is packed with pumpkins and gourds you can only buy on site. Since Burt’s and Uncle Shuck’s are both in Dawsonville, you can easily make a full day of it.
Tips for a better farm day
- Go early, especially on weekends. Lines and parking get tougher by the afternoon.
- Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. Corn mazes and pumpkin fields are dirt, not sidewalk.
- Pack water and snacks, since food hours vary by farm and by day.
- Bring a wagon or sturdy bags if you plan to haul home more than one pumpkin.
- Check the farm’s website or social pages the morning you go. Weather can change plans fast.
And if the whole crew comes back to your place hungry, a seafood boil is an easy way to end the day. Shrimp & Lobster Unlimited takes orders by phone or WhatsApp at (404) 314-2100.
