Western Massachusetts lyricist Benefit (of the EMS crew) returns with a tightly crafted new project, The Labyrinth, a four-track EP produced entirely by Brooklyn producer Thvnos. Known for his sharp pen and introspective delivery, Benefit navigates themes of growth, navigating life’s pitfalls and self-discovery over Thvnos’ dark, cinematic soundscape.
The Labyrinth showcases a cohesive blend of gritty boom-bap textures and modern underground energy, with Thvnos providing a haunting backdrop that perfectly complements Benefit’s aggressive energy and intricate wordplay. The EP stands as a testament to the duo’s chemistry, offering listeners an immersive journey through layered production and thought-provoking bars. With The Labyrinth, Benefit continues to solidify his presence in the Western Mass hip-hop scene, delivering a project that resonates with authenticity and artistic focus. Also be on the lookout for a new Co-Defendants (Benefit & Profit) project coming soon. Their latest single “Sky Reign” ft. M-Dot & produced by 38 Spesh is currently making its rounds.
